Discussion Question 2

We talked a little in class about why we still read Shakespeare, so many years later. I suggested that it's because many of the character's thoughts, feelings, and experiences still ring true hundreds of years later. Why do you think we still read Shakespeare? Should we still read Shakespeare?

i think, nowadays macbeth and shakespeare are a part of society, everyone learns it in high-school and can talk about it. people who don´t know anything about shakespeare may face disadvantages or problems in discussions or movies or just references about it. really necessary to read it is, in my opinion, not, but who would be the first to stop this chain ?

I think shakespearce makes us understand the meaning of life and values important things such as family, loyality and love. we would still have to read it because in our society its expected that you have alittle knowledge of him and also simply because it just makes us more thoughtful and understanding person with deeper meaning of life and tragedy.

Shakespeare is part of living human life, hence I think that it’s still important reading his works up to today. He has played a great part in the human evolution. He proved that there’s no separation built between generations, and that his emotions and ideas still create relevance to our world today. Right now, right this minute, right this second, Shakespeare’s works are being taught to students in different corners of the world. It just goes to show that, we must learn to value Shakespeare’s language of art for it will always be part of our lives.

I think we still read Shakespeare because his writings are so incredible. He was the greatest writer in the english language and literature. It is a well respected part of history and I think everyone should know our history. The plays are madeup of complex issues that I think are important to our lives. We definately should continue to read Shakespeare in school.

Shakespeare makes us think what moral philosophy. There are a lot of important information in Shakespeare books, such as human life, value, society, and love.
These things are truly profound and mysterious to read and think.
Especially, Shakespeare expressed the human life really well; we need to read and understand to feel impressed from the Shakespeare's books.

Well Shakespeare obviously was very great and was good at all the plays he made by himself. I think they still want us to still read about him becuase they want us to remember all the great men that affected us and our lives. But other than that i dont think it is neccesary to do this in highschool classes specially in higher level of study because we have so much to cover and we should study something else instead that will postively help us in life better and more.

Reading Shakespeare has been ongoing tradition for many centuries.Although Shakespeare is old, it is still recognized for its genuine work of art. It is necessary to read Shakespeare because it consists of rich human values that people encounters in life. In Brave New World,it is Shakespeare that truly shaped John as a human being. Therefore, Shakespeare is part of humanity.
