Discussion Question

Macbeth Anticipation:

What do you already know about Macbeth? What questions do you have?

And if you don't know anything about Macbeth, what do you know about Shakespeare? What kinds of experiences have you had reading and studying his plays?

All I know about "Macbeth" is that it was written by Shakespeare.

My experiance of Shakespeare is very limited, it was introduced to me last year in Ms Smiths class. We read "Mid Summers Night Dream". It was interesting and fun acting it out and reading the scripts in class.

I don't know much about Macbeth. I know that Shakespeare wrote it and that the story is just another trajedy. I started studying Shakespeare in grade nine. I have read A Midsummer Night's Dream ad Romeo and Juliet. We acted out certain scenes and we analyzed the text.

I don´t really know anything about Shakespeare or Macbeth. I just know that it´s written by Shakespeare and that the language is very old and queer, compared to the English we are using nowadays. I´m really looking forward to learn and read something about all this.

I have no idea on what Macbeth is about. Shakespeare writes novels on: romance, tragedy and many more themes. I've read Othello and Romeo and Juliet. And, I've already watched Shakespeare In Love.

I dont know much about Macbeth but i started learning about shakespeare in grade 10 and we acted out certain scenes from the Romeo and Juliet Play. I usually find the text hard to understand but once you do understand it is very interesting. i am looking forward to this unit!

I know with Shakespeare, his stories involve a lot of passion and love, but also tragedy and death. I haven't read the play Macbeth but I heard that if somebodies name is in the title, that means they will later die in the story. An example is Romeo and Juliet.

I don't know any story about Macbeth. The thing that I only know about Macbeth is Shakespeare wrote that story. I know that Shakespeare wrote many legend books and one of these books that I have read is 'Romeo and Juliet' which is written by Shakespeare. This book was really excited for me, so I guess that Macbeth would make me happy and funny if I read.

I don't really know much about Macbeth, but I do know that it's a tragedy. Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright. His works consist of comedies, romance, and tragedies. I've never really learned or read any of his works but Romeo and Juliet.

Macbeth is about what it means to be a hero, what it means to be a man, what it means to be ambitious - and how to make a lot of mistakes while trying to be all those things.

There's also witches, bloodshed, and a lot of interesting language.

All I know is that Shakespeare wrote this play Macbeth, which is one of his four tragedies. I read Shakespeare's well-known play, Romeo and Juliet in grade 10. I know that Shakespeare described the nature of life in an extreme way. For example, in Romeo and Juliet their love led to tragic death.
